Ostomy deodorant is used to help manage odor inside an ostomy pouch. It may come as drops, liquid deodorant, gel, spray, tablet, or lubricating deodorant depending on the product.
Some ostomy deodorants are added directly into the pouch before use or after emptying a drainable pouch, based on the product directions. Lubricating deodorants may also help coat the inside of the pouch so output can move more easily toward the bottom. Product specifications should be reviewed carefully to confirm intended use, pouch compatibility, deodorizing function, lubricating properties, fragrance, and directions for use with colostomy, ileostomy, or urostomy pouches.
