Condom catheters must be properly sized to work correctly. They are sized based on the diameter of the xxxx , not the circumference. Using a manufacturer’s sizing guide is the most accurate way to determine the correct size.
If a sizing guide is not available, you can measure by gently wrapping a string around the shaft of the xxxx (not too tight or loose), measuring the length in millimeters, and dividing that number by 3.14 to calculate the diameter. The resulting measurement in millimeters corresponds to the appropriate catheter size.
For additional guidance on measuring and sizing, see our How to Use External Condom Catheters guide.
